{"id":123,"date":"2005-04-22T00:12:54","date_gmt":"2005-04-21T23:12:54","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=123"},"modified":"2025-02-01T03:04:17","modified_gmt":"2025-02-01T03:04:17","slug":"lake-district","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.malcolmhardie.com\/weblogs\/angus\/2005\/04\/22\/lake-district\/","title":{"rendered":"Lake District!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve sort of just got back from a really wonderful trip to the <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.co.uk\/maps?q=Windermere,+Cumbria,+LA23&#038;spn=0.112305,0.233502&#038;hl=en\">Lake District<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.co.uk\">google map<\/a>). It was great to get away from technology (mostly) and the demands of work. I really enjoyed the holiday and if you ever get the opportunity to visit that part of the country, do it. Windermere is a really great place to visit.<\/p>\n<p>We spent all day doing outdoor stuff, the walking in the area is amazing. The views are amazing and although the weather was a bit wet, the walking is great. We were hoping to do some sailing as well, but the weather proved a bit difficult in that area, but we did get in a motor boat hire and several trips across and around the lakes. We also went horse riding, which is something that I haven&#8217;t really done much of, but I enjoyed it immensely.<\/p>\n<p>There was also great food at various resturants and several ruthless board games (mostly monopoly).<\/p>\n<p>Everyone was really friendly and the people running both the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yha.org.uk\/hostel\/hostelpages\/242.html\">Windermere<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yha.org.uk\/hostel\/hostelpages\/175.html\">Ambleside<\/a> youth hostels couldn&#8217;t have been better.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m already hoping to go back \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>[edited to improve  structure]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve sort of just got back from a really wonderful trip to the Lake District (google map).
