Mac OS X On Intel

June 7th 2005 - By Angus W Hardie

Mac OS X to run on Intel Processors

Yesterday afternoon Apple announced that starting in 2006, the Mac OS X platform would be moving to Intel processors. The new processors will replace the existing PowerPC processors, first in low end and portable units and then later in the high end desktop and server units.

SQLEditor on Intel

At MalcolmHardie Solutions we remain commited to the Mac platform. We have already begun initial work towards providing a version of SQLEditor that will run on Mac OS X/Intel and this will continue until the release of the first intel based macs sometime in 2006.

SQLEditor on PowerPC

We're not giving up on PowerPC based Macs! We fully intend to support both architectures and will provide "fat" binary editions of our software whenever possible.

Upgrade policy

We intend to provide SQLEditor as a fat, dual format binary when the intel based macs are launched. We expect to be able to offer this as a free upgrade to qualifying customers.*
